A Contractor License bond guarantees the contractor will comply with all statutes and licensing regulations that the state has set forth in the bond form. This license bond is for a contractor to obtain their license with the state not to be confused with a Payment and Performance Bond. The bond amount varies from state to state. Florida Bonds
Florida Construction License Bond
The Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board in-acted new rules requiring contractors with low credit score to obtain a Florida Construction License Bond in an amount determined by the Board. The bond is to guarantee that the contractor shall conduct its business in conformity with said laws and rules of the Florida Department of Business and Professional regulation.Financial Responsible Officer Bond - $100,000
There are two types of licenses in Florida- Certified Licenses are statewide and allow you to work as a contractor anywhere in Florida.
- Registered licenses are limited to certain local jurisdictions and only allow you to work in the cities or counties where you hold a certificate of competency.
California Bonds

If a California contractor has had issues with his/her license, the CSLB may require them to carry a Disciplinary Bond. The Contractor Disciplinary Bond amount starts at $15,000.

Oregon Bonds
Currently the bond amount is $20,000.Oregon law requires anyone who works for compensation in any construction activity involving improvements to real property to be licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB). This includes roofing, siding, painting, carpentry, concrete, on-site appliance repair, heating and air conditioning, home inspections, tree service, plumbing, electrical, floor covering, manufactured dwelling installations, land development and most other construction and repair services.
A CCB license is also required for:
- Those who purchase homes fix them up themselves and resell them.
- Material suppliers that receive compensation for installing or arranging the installation of the materials.

Washington Bonds
Currently the bond amount is $12,000. Washington has a General Contractor License and a Specialty Contractor License. A General Contractor License can perform or supervise numerous building trades or crafts. TheA Specialty Contractor License can perform one building trade or craft. The Washington Specialty Contractor surety bond is $6,000. Originals of the Specialty Contractor Bonds and General Contractor Bonds must be filed with the Department of labor and industries.

A contractor is also required to provide evidence of general liability insurance coverage in the amounts of: $50,000 property damage policy and $200,000 public liability policy or $250,000 combined single limit policy.
Arizona Bonds
In Arizona the contractor license bond amount is based upon gross sales.There are several different bond types of contractor licenses:
