D.O.D. PERFORMANCE BOND

Department of Defense Performance Bond

Freight Carriers must qualify under the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command’s (SDDC) Freight Carrier Registration Program (FCRP) in order to transport Department Of Defense (DOD) freight. As part of this qualification and the application process, Carriers must post a DOD performance surety bond in an amount approved by the DOD.

The DOD performance bond must be submitted by the surety company/agent to SDDC.

All carriers wanting to do business with DOD must have a valid Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC). The SCVAC is a unique code issued through the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA).

It’s recommended that before new carriers begin the approval process, they become familiar with the Defense Transpiration Coordination Initiative (DTCI).
